Mary-Dan Johnston is a multidisciplinary Canadian writer, researcher, and facilitator. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, she received her BA (Hons) in Interdisciplinary Studies (Globalization and Justice) in 2012 from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and graduated with an MPhil in Economic and Social History from the University of Oxford in September 2014.
Mary-Dan has worked as a researcher in public health, the social sciences, and the humanities over the course of the past seven years. Since 2004, she has been an active participant in movements for economic, social, and environmental justice in Canada and the United Kingdom. Her writing has recently appeared in GUTS Canadian Feminist Magazine, and she blogs here, some days.
